The Spider World

Tiny. Curious. Adorable.

Welcome to the fun side of EJS. Learn about jumping spiders, meet our crew, and fall in love with the coolest little creatures on eight legs.

Meet Regina

Our juvenile female jumping spider and current star of the show.

Regina the jumping spider

Regina

Regina is a juvenile female jumping spider with big eyes and even bigger personality. Curious, bold, and loves exploring. Follow her journey on our socials as she grows!

More spiders coming soon. Still figuring out sexes and names for the rest of the crew.

Fun Facts

They Have 8 Eyes

Two large front-facing eyes give them incredible depth perception. They can see in almost 360 degrees.

They Jump 50x Their Body Length

Like a human jumping a football field. They use hydraulic pressure in their legs, not muscles.

Incredibly Smart

They can plan routes, solve problems, and even recognize their owners. Their brain-to-body ratio is huge.

Males Dance to Impress

Elaborate dances with leg waves and vibrations to attract females. Basically a tiny talent show.

They See in Color

Unlike most spiders, they see a full range of colors including ultraviolet light humans cannot see.

Tiny Silk Tents

No webs to catch prey. Instead they build small silk shelters called sacs to sleep in at night.

Latest Snaps

Just a preview — we post way more spider content, videos, and updates on our socials.
